Down the Aisle: 100 Years of Ford Family Weddings

Edsel and Eleanor Ford House
Grosse Pointe, MI

The Edsel and Eleanor Ford House celebrated the 100th anniversary of Eleanor and Edsel Ford’s wedding featuring wedding gowns from four generations of family brides. The temporary exhibit was installed in the “Cottage,” part of the gatehouse to the estate.

The project team of staff facilitated by Hutchinson Studios concurred that the experience for the primary audience of females over 30 would be better served by telling the stories of the weddings rather than focusing completely on couture. The experience was organized by generation, and copy and graphics provided historical context and followed the wedding traditions passed down through the generations.

Hutchinson Studios provided exhibit development, design, editorial, production and project management services.
