The Orion Township Public Library was consolidating its collection of local history and wished to develop an exhibit about the area. In the mid-1800s the town began developing Lake Orion as a resort for residents of the Detroit and Flint areas, and this story was key to the town’s development, supportable with the library’s collections, and quite entertaining.

The exhibit made use of images from the collection and a number of objects including post cards, a section of railroad track, a nautical flag and an accordion. A touch screen interactive provided in-depth access to the library’s images.
